John 17:16, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.”

Jesus spoke these words in prayer to the Father, and He was speaking about believers. He named a reality that runs deeper than culture, politics, or belonging. He placed His followers in a different category entirely through identity. You live in the world, but you are no longer defined by it. It is a statement of belonging to Him. You belong to Christ, and your citizenship rests in His kingdom. This changes how you interpret pressure, how you measure success, and where you turn when the world’s systems fail to satisfy.
