Examining what we believe about God’s goodness (Part Four)

Job’s faith does not ignore grief or minimize loss. His lament throughout the book that bears his name is raw, honest, and filled with questions. But underneath his pain, there remained a refusal to let go of God. When life is unbearable. Job’s question (Job 2:10) invites you to examine what you believe about God’s goodness. Is it conditional? Does it depend on your circumstances aligning with your hopes? Or is it rooted in something deeper, something that remains even when everything visible falls apart? The truth Job clung to is the same truth available to you today. God is not good because He gives you what you want. He is good because of who He is. His faithfulness does not rise and fall with your comfort. His presence does not abandon you when hardship arrives.
