Examining what we believe about God’s goodness (Conclusion)

What is the goodness of God? It is who God is, and what God does. The Psalmist says, “You are good and You do good; Teach me Your statutes” (Psalm 119:68). In other words, God is not merely someone who does good things; He is the very essence and definition of goodness. To say that God is good means that God always acts in accordance to what is right and true. God’s internal nature overflows into outward actions. The goodness of God means that God continually acts with generosity, grace, mercy, and benevolence toward His creation.
