Help in the daily Battle (Part Two)

Romans 6:14: “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” Paul’s statement is not conditional. He’s not saying sin might lose its grip if you try harder or perform better. He’s declaring a spiritual reality. Paul’s distinction between law and grace is significant. Under the law, your standing before God depended on perfect obedience to Him. Every failure reinforced the sense that sin was still in control. On the other hand, grace operates differently. Being under grace means the daily power of the sinful nature is meant to be progressively overcome through reliance on the Holy Spirit.
