Our passage reads "Then I looked and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing" (Rev. 5:11-12). In this scene, apostle John is shown the heavenly choir! An innumerable company of angels now joins the living creatures and the 24 elders in praise, worship and adoration to the Lamb. The Greek term for "myriad" means "10,000. "Myriad of myriad" would equal 10,000 times 10,000. That equals 100 million! But John says "myriads of myriads." This equals hundreds of millions times hundreds of millions. This number is easily in the billions! But John doesn't stop there! He says that there are still "thousands of thousands." In other words "An innumerable company of angels" or simply a staggering number which transcends our ability to comprehend. The Lamb of God is worthy of overwhelming praise! What an awesome choir this is! What an awesome and powerful scene of praise and worship to the Lamb of God! John tells us they were giving praise "with a loud voice." The word "voice" is singular. This means that they are speaking as one, in perfect unity! I can only imagine the intensity and degree of sound this praise makes to the Lord. I don't know about you but I can't wait to get there and worship with that group! I can't wait to be part of this scene when all of heaven breaks loose in praise to the Lamb of God who is worthy to be praised! How about you? Praising the Lamb of God is an awesome privilege of the Christ follower. If you enjoy praising the Lord now, just wait until that time! Multiplied billions are in this heavenly choir, worshipping because the Lamb has made redemption possible. This scene presents every person in heaven totally absorbed and taken up in worshipping the Lamb of God. It just doesn't get any better than this! So in the mean time, let's continue to "get our praise on" because Christ is worthy. Your move. Be encouraged!
