According to the inspired Word of God, God is seeking people to worship Him in spirit and in truth. God is looking for true worshippers! This should describe the life of the Christ follower! What constitutes true worship? True worship is to worship God in spirit, that is, in reality. In other words, our inner being (spirit) must be right with God so that the outward motions of worship flow from the inside out. God does not want us just to go through the motions of worship, but to have hearts that overflow with love and reverence for Him! This is what it means to worship Him in spirit. Worship is not based on our feelings, but if the worship is authentic, feelings normally will be involved. But also we are to worship God in truth! Worship must be based on the true revelation of God that's given in His Word. In other words, to properly worship God, we must understand and embrace something of who He is and what He has done. In studying the Bible concerning worship, I have come to the conclusion that there are two key elements that normally coincide to ignite worship in spirit and truth. They are an understanding of who God is and an understanding of who we are. As we come to realize who God really is, we can't help but become painfully aware of who we are in His holy presence! This causes us to stand in awe of our God, which in turn, causes us to fall down before Him in worship! God's greatness and our great need should cause us to respond in heartfelt worship! Remember, the Father seeks such! Your move. Be encouraged!
