Dangerous Theology...The Word of Faith Movement, Part 4. "Rotten Fruit of A Foul, Heretical Ro

The Word of Faith doctrine of "health and wealth," should cause those who believe it to question why it's not working in their lives! If their words have the power to cause money and wealth to come to them, why has it not happened? What kind of power has their words produced? Where's the evidence? The person exercising the wisdom of God will readily see the error in these teachings! Unfortunately, these doctrines (health and wealth) are only the fruit of a rotten, foul, blasphemous, and heretical root! The "health and wealth" doctrine is simply the result of their perverted and diseased doctrines concerning the nature of man and the nature of God! After an examination of what the Word of Faith teachers believe about the nature of man and the nature of God, we'll see that we're not contending with a Christian group gone awry, but that we're contending with a non-Christian heretical group that's as dangerous in their teachings as every cult! The question is, "Who is God to the Word of Faith teachers and proponents?" Let's examine the words of Kenneth Copeland. He said, "God is the biggest failure in the Bible....the reason you've never thought that is because He never said He was one." "Praise-a-thon," Broadcast on TBN, recorded 1988. To label God as "the biggest failure in the Bible" gives real insight into how this movement looks at God! This is a blasphemous and thorough belittling of God! When the image of the true God is twisted and distorted, we're dealing with heresies. The doctrine concerning God is not something left to our freedom of interpretation seeing that the Bible gives clear teaching of who He is! I have never found in the Bible where God is called a failure! Have you? These are the words of those who are against God! These words present a very twisted and perverted view of God! Kenneth Copeland also teaches that "God is a being that stands somewhere around 6 ' 2, 6 ' 3," intimating that he's seen God and that God has a body! "Spirit, Soul, and Body," tape # 01-0601. One can see that this teaching is bizarre and downright ridiculous, but there are many who follow him. Mr. Copeland also says, with no biblical warrant, that the earth we live on is a "copy of the mother planet" which God lives on. "Following the Faith of Abraham," tape # 01-3001. Where are these things found in the Bible? These are statements that have supposedly been received by direct revelation from God! What is the reason for this degrading and belittling of God? It sets the table for the exalting of man to the status of God! It removes any sovereignty from God and places it into the hands of man. It removes any dignity from God and causes you to think less of God. According to Kenneth Copeland, God is slightly more than an "exalted man!" Now the error grows to them exalting man to the status of God. According to Word of Faith teachers, Adam was an exact duplicate of God. Copeland says to his followers, "God's reason for creating Adam was His desire to reproduce Himself. I mean a reproduction of Himself. He (Adam) was not a little like God, he was not almost like God, He was not subordinate to God even." "Following the Faith of Abraham," tape # 01-3001. Copeland also says that "Adam is God manifested in the flesh," "Following the Faith of Abraham," tape # 01-3001. By now, I believe that you can see the serious error and danger of this doctrine! It's caused by a warped and twisted view of who God is which leads to a twisted and warped view of who man is! It also leads to a warped and twisted view of Jesus and His atonement. Your move. Be encouraged!
