Let's revisit some statements made concerning the error of redefining inspiration and revelation, and how it will undermine our ability to receive God's truth! I said, "If we continue to subvert the uniqueness of the Scriptures, we'll have no way of distinguishing God's voice from man's!" I said, "To refer to the Holy Spirit's leading and empowering ministry as inspiration or revelation is a costly error." I said, "To use phrases like, "God spoke to me," or "The Holy Spirit said this to me," or "This was not my idea; the Lord gave it to me," or "These are not my words, but a message I got from the Lord," CONFUSES the issue of the Holy Spirit's direction in the lives of Christ followers today!" As Christ followers, do you think it's important to be able to distinguish God's voice from man's? As Christ followers, do you think it's important not to be confused about the Holy Spirit's direction in our lives? Let's examine the words of Word of Faith teacher, Joyce Meyer. In teaching on the atonement of Jesus Christ, Joyce Meyer said these words: "The Bible can't even find any way to explain this (teaching that Jesus paid for sins in Hell, not on the cross). Not really. That's why you've got to get it by revelation. There are no words to explain what I'm telling you. I've got to just trust God that He's putting it into your spirit like He put it into mine." From, "What Happened From The Cross To The Throne." What is this nonsense? If the Bible can't explain it, then who or what voice are you listening to? What is she teaching? She's saying that the Bible is not the final authority when it comes to matters of faith. She's saying that the Bible is not the final authority when it comes to God's revelation to His church! She's teaching that you need special revelation from God to understand what she's teaching because it is not found in the Bible! How are you going to get special revelation from God? What other way is God supposed to say it? He's already spoken what He wants to reveal to us! He did it through the Bible, which Joyce Meyer says is not sufficient! What confusion is this? She said, "The Bible can't even find any way to explain what she's teaching!" That's because Joyce Meyer is not teaching about the Jesus of the Bible! She's teaching another Jesus. Because she's teaching another Jesus, she's teaching another gospel! Because she's teaching another gospel, she's teaching another salvation! How can this teaching be beneficial to the growth of any Christ follower? Listen to the words of Apostle Paul to the Christ followers at Galatia. He says, "I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!" (Galatians 1:6-8). The teaching of Joyce Meyer distorts the gospel of Christ! This is because Joyce Meyer teaches things that are outside the gospel of Christ! She teaches a gospel contrary to the apostles! Your move. Be encouraged!
