No human relationship should be more intimate, no human bond more inseparable than that between the disciple and his/her Lord! Following Christ demands a devotion to Him that transcends the instinct to preserve our own life! As disciples of Jesus, pleasing God is to be the highest, most compelling motive of our lives. True discipleship puts the Lord Jesus Christ above everything and everyone else. As Christ followers, we esteem His fellowship above that of any other! We consider it a far greater thing to be related to Him than any human kinship. We see His purposes, His desires, as vastly more important than our own! In this type of relationship there's always plenty of joy and peace. As Christ followers, we're to find freedom and total fulfillment in this type of relationship! Examine the words of Jesus found in Luke 14:25-27 and let them burn within you! Your move. Be encouraged!
