The Opposition of MAGA & Biblical Christianity (Part One)

I haven’t found anyone who professes to being a Christian explain to me how MAGA is compatible with what Jesus taught. The reason is because that work of explaining is not possible! What Jesus taught and the beliefs and aspirations of MAGA are in opposition to each other. To claim otherwise is to distort Jesus’ teachings and replace them with an idol covered in a flag! Jesus declared blessings upon the poor, the meek, and the peacemakers (Matthew 5:3–9). He called His followers to love their enemies (Matthew 5:44), to welcome the stranger (Matthew 25:35), and to serve rather than dominate (Mark 10:42–45). His Kingdom was not of this world (John 18:36), and when He was offered political shortcuts to power, He refused them (Matthew 4:8–10). MAGA, by contrast, thrives on bitterness, resentment and fear. It dehumanizes those who don’t belong or agree, celebrates in the insult, glorifies the wealthy, and sets apart as holy the pursuit of power. It promises safety through walls, greatness through domination, and purity through exclusion. It feeds the damaging and negative impulses Christ condemned and despises the very people Jesus embraced. The church is to never look to the world to endorse it’s way of living! The church should not conform to the shifting values of culture but should instead be transformed by its faith and Scripture. The church's purpose is to be a distinct, holy nation called to live by God's unchangeable truth, and its influence on the world should be a byproduct of this distinctiveness, not a goal achieved by adopting the world's standards. This perspective is supported by biblical passages warning against conforming to the world and emphasizing a mind renewed by God's Word. This is not the first time the church has been tempted to trade its birthright for political favor. It won’t be the last! But, be encouraged! Scripture teaches, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
