Wisdom & Discernment
In a biblical context, the words "reflection converts experience into discernment and wisdom" means pausing to evaluate life's events—both successes and failures—through the lens of God's Word, prayer, and divine perspective. Reflection, therefore, becomes a means of aligning one's thoughts and actions with God. It is the process of moving beyond mere life experience (what happened) to spiritual insight (what it means), resulting in godly character and better decisions (wisd

Human Limits vs. God’s Power
God isn’t bothered by the odds being stacked against you because they’re never stacked against Him! When human strength is exhausted (when odds are stacked against you), it serves to highlight that overcoming comes from God’s power, not human effort. Because God is never exhausted, helpless, frustrated, or at a loss, (odds are never stacked against Him). There is no enemy or unfavorable circumstance that is stronger than Him, meaning the, "odds" are never truly against God.

The Resurrection of Jesus!
Paul prays that we would know the surpassing great power of God that saved us, which is in accordance with the same power that raised Christ from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20). The mightiest power ever unleashed on this earth was not the power of the atomic bombs dropped on Japan. It was not the power of an earthquake, volcano, tornado, hurricane, or flood. The mightiest power ever unleashed on this earth was when God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Satan and all of his ev

The Power of Jesus’ Resurrection!
Jesus showed by His resurrection that He has the power to conquer death and ultimately to provide true life to all who believe in Him. Paul found his confidence and joy in the Lord, and he looked to the power of Jesus’ resurrection. Paul intensely desired a deep, experiential, and intimate relationship with Christ, embracing both the power of His resurrection and the sacrifice of His sufferings (Philippians 3:10). This knowledge was more valuable to Paul than anything else i

Happiness always seems easier when you're on the other side!
The phrase, "Happiness always seems easier when you're on the other side" suggests that joy, success, or peace appears more attainable and effortless from a distance, or when looking at others' lives. It highlights the human fallacy and tendency to overvalue others' circumstances, believe in "greener grass," and feel dissatisfaction, while forgetting that happiness is an internal choice rather than a destination! In the Bible, happiness is defined as a state of deep, lasting

The Struggle Is Real, But God Is More Real! (Part One)
Biblically, "the struggle is real" means that believers face an authentic, intense spiritual battle against sin, temptation, and spiritual forces rather than just human issues (Ephesians 6:12). It is a call to persevere, relying on God’s strength and wisdom to grow in faith rather than relying on oneself. Challenges are designed to refine faith and produce patience and maturity (James 1:2-4). In other words, the "struggle" is essentially the daily process of sanctification—b

The Best is Yet To Come!
For every believer in Christ, Jesus is our perfect Kinsman-Redeemer. Jesus as the Kinsman-Redeemer is the biblical concept of a near relative (kinsman) who rescues or restores a family member from spiritual poverty, slavery, or loss. Jesus fulfills this by becoming human to share our bloodline, willingly paying the debt of sin with His life to redeem humanity and restore our inheritance. Just as Boaz redeemed Naomi’s land in Ruth, Jesus restores the spiritual inheritance lost

I can do all things through a verse taken out of context!
The verse “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) is often taken out of context and used to mean that Christians are empowered to accomplish any task. However, the verse actually refers to a believer’s ability to endure hardship and persecution, and to be content in any situation. Reading the Bible in context means understanding the ideas and themes that the author was thinking about when writing. Out of context, Philippians 4:13 is used as

Let your faith in Jesus inform your feelings! (Part One)
Letting your faith inform your feelings means prioritizing biblical truth over shifting emotions and circumstances. It is a decision to trust God's Word rather than temporary sensations, recognizing that while feelings are valid, they are not always trustworthy guides. Emotions should be tested against biblical truth, as they are not always facts. It implies aligning emotions with God's will through prayer, allowing faith to govern actions. Be encouraged! ~Dr. Robert L. Tayl

Knowing the Jesus of the Bible
Based on the historical, archeological, and forensic evidence, Jesus was a Middle Eastern, Palestinian Jewish man with brown skin who lived in the region of Galilee/Judea (today's Palestine/Israel). This is contrary to the popular white image. He was born under occupation. He lived among the poor. He identified with the marginalized (groups of people excluded from mainstream social, economic, and educational life). He uplifted the oppressed. He flipped over the tables of
