We read, Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11). Apostle Paul means that Christians should equip themselves with spiritual virtues and divine protection to stand your ground against the schemes of evil forces. The armor is metaphorical for a person's inherent qualities of mind and character. The armor points to habitual qualities of character that guide us! They’re developed through intention, faith, and specific behavior. “Put on the full armor of God” is a metaphor for adopting the mind and character of Jesus, and relying on God's strength to navigate spiritual battles. We “wear” the whole amor of God when we imitate Christ. We “put on” the full of armor of God by living a life pleasing to God. By imitating Christ's example, we’re following the pattern God has set for us. The process of imitating Christ involves becoming more like Him, which leads to personal transformation. “Put on the full armor of God”  encourages followers to imitate Christ in their actions, having the mind of Christ which means to have a mindset that is aligned with Christ's purposes and perspective, enabled by the Holy Spirit to think and act like Him! This includes seeing the world through God's plan, and discerning spiritual matters that are not understood by worldly wisdom. The mind and character of Jesus is developed by understanding God's Word and surrendering to the Holy Spirit's promptings to change one's thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Be encouraged as you “Put on the full armor of God!”
