Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful” (John 14:27). Living in this peace is a choice! "Do not let your heart be troubled" speaks of this choice and is Jesus' command to His disciples to maintain inner peace by trusting in God and His promises. It means choosing to not let anxiety, panic, or fear dominate the mind, will, and emotions (the heart). Ultimately, it is a call to focus on Jesus’ promises and presence rather than the chaos of worldly circumstances. Be encouraged!
