God doesn’t choose marriage partners…we do!

Many well-meaning believers say to me, “I’m waiting on God to bring the right person.” But the biblical emphasis is on you doing the finding! You’re waiting on God, but the choice is yours. Finding a good wife or husband (Proverbs 18:22) means using God’s Word to recognize a pattern that matches the godly life you desire and choose accordingly. That is discernment. That is what the vetting process looks like. The vetting isn’t a pursuit of perfection, but a mutually flawed pursuit of Jesus. Be encouraged!
