Paul teaches, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful” (Colossians 3:15). Paul is teaching that God's peace should be the deciding factor and constant influence in your thoughts, emotions, and actions, acting like an umpire to guide your choices. To allow this peace to rule, one should focus on God, trust in His promises, pray with thanksgiving, and allow His Word to guide their lives, rather than letting anxiety or worldly concerns take control. God's peace should have the final say in how you live, rather than allowing turmoil, anger, or fear to dominate your decisions. The peace of Christ acts as an arbitrator, guiding your thoughts and emotions, ensuring your actions are in line with what God intends. It signifies a state where God's internal peace, a gift of Christ, is the supreme power, not just a fleeting feeling but a ruling reality within you. God’s peace protects your heart and mind from the negative influences of the world and the constant pressures of life. How are we to allow God's peace to rule in our hearts? We must keep our mind fixed on God and trust in His character and promises, which helps eliminate anxiety. We’re to pray with thanksgiving. We surrender our worries by presenting our requests to God through prayer, with a heart full of thankfulness. Be encouraged!
