From the heart of Dr. Robert L. Taylor, Th.D., Bible Teacher & Expositor. For the Christian, the seventh item Scripture lists as “the fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22) is faithfulness. What is faithfulness? It’s defined as “steadfast in affection or allegiance, firm in adherence to promises, true to the facts, and full of faith.” A faithful person is someone who is consistently reliable, loyal, and steadfast in their commitments and relationships. They demonstrate trustworthiness, honesty, and a strong sense of loyalty, often maintaining their principles and obligations even when faced with challenges or temptations. Faithfulness is steadfastness, constancy, or allegiance; it is carefulness in keeping what we are entrusted with. Faithfulness is the result of the Spirit working in us. A faithful person is steadfast in their affections and allegiance to others or their commitments. They consistently fulfill promises and responsibilities, showing dependability in their actions. Faithfulness often involves being truthful and honest, even when it's difficult. People who’re faithful act with integrity, aligning their words and actions with their values and principles. A faithful person builds trust with others through their consistent and reliable behavior. In essence, a faithful person is someone who can be relied upon to be loyal, honest, and true to their commitments, demonstrating integrity and consistency in their actions and character. God isn’t expecting perfection. He is expecting a heart that’s aimed at the goal of faithfulness! Be encouraged!
