No Other Name...Acts 4:12

Our passage says, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Because of the truth of these words, no other name means more to me! Oh, how I love the name of Jesus! The word "name" is defined as, "that by which a person or thing is known." Jesus is the name (person) that I love. Please note that this passage puts Jesus in a class by Himself! Why is this good news? It's good news because it was for our benefit that Jesus was born into this world without sin. Because of this, He is the only person qualified to bear our sins! This puts Jesus in a class by Himself. He's not in the same class of any other person because salvation can't be found in any other name, except His! Praise the Lord forevermore! No other person was ever born of the seed of a woman. Only Jesus was born of the seed of a woman! The rest of humanity has been born of the seed of a man! Let me explain. The gospels report that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit rather than through a human father (seed of a man). Mary contributed 23 chromosomes through the egg she held, and the Holy Spirit gave the other 23 chromosomes in a miraculous way! Who else have you known that was born this way? No one else has ever been born without a human father! But, Jesus was! This is how the Bible explains it; "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 1:18). Notice the account does not say she was found to be with child by Joseph! Later, in verse 20 we're told, "for the child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." In this way, Mary bore a child who was God in the human flesh, one born without sin! This qualifies Jesus and only Jesus, to be our sin bearer! And that's why there's salvation in no one else! No one else was ever born without a human father. Jesus was born of the seed of a woman! Listen to the words that God used when pronouncing a curse on the spiritual serpent, Satan. "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel" (Genesis 3:15). The terms, "your seed" are in reference to Satan and unbelievers (John 8:44). The term, "her seed" is in reference to Jesus, a descendant of Eve, (through Mary) and those in Him. Be encouraged! There's no other name!
