Walking in Newness of Life (Part Three)

Romans 6:4: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” This is where resurrection hope becomes deeply personal. We are not being asked to resurrect ourselves. We are not being called to dig our way out of the grave (the old way of life) by sheer willpower. Christ has already done the impossible. He has walked through death and come out the other side. And in Him, so have we. What does it look like to live in that reality? It looks like trusting that the things we’ve let go of, the versions of ourselves we’ve laid down, the habits or wounds or fears we’ve buried, do not have the final word. Resurrection hope says that God is doing something beyond what we can see right now. He is bringing life where there was only death.
