Walking in Newness of Life

Romans 6:4: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Resurrection hope begins with burial. Paul places us in the tomb with Christ, (in the darkness of our old selves), so we might understand what comes next. Though this is symbolic language, it is the pattern of true life transformation. Jesus’ resurrection marked the start of a brand-new spiritual life for believers. The life of being in Christ is not a polished version of what you’ve always known. It is new life, rooted in resurrection hope rather than human effort.
