Understanding Psalm 73:26 (Part Two)

1 min read

We read, “My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26). In a world where so much can be lost – health, security, relationships, roles, even a sense of identity – this verse says something steady: God Himself is what you cannot lose. Your body may grow tired. Your emotions may feel stretched. Your outer strength may waver. But underneath, if God is your portion, your foundation is sure. What holds you is not your own stamina, but His faithfulness. This verse does not promise that our hearts will never tremble, or that our bodies will always cooperate. It promises something quieter and deeper: when they do fail, God will still be there, unchanged. He is not more present on your strong days and less present on your weary ones. His strength does not withdraw when yours runs out.
