Those who believe in mixing faith & politics understand neither!

While millions of Christians surely consider themselves Conservatives, Liberals, or Progressives, there is little evidence that biblical, principles function as the basis of these movements in America. Bible-believing Christians would do well to ponder just how it is that they relate to Conservatism, Liberalism, or Progressivism in any of its forms. Let’s be specific. Do any branches of these movements emphasize that man is made in the image of God? That God has a moral law that is binding on all men? That He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe who governs it by His providence? That He requires kings and presidents to rule with justice and mercy. I believe it might be useful for Christians to refrain from referring to themselves by these political terms because there is too much worldly baggage tied to them which confuses their duty to witness. Christian, does your witness confuse anyone by your tendency to also call yourself a Conservative, Liberal, or Progressive? The government has its purpose, and so does the church. Our primary mission lies not in changing the nation through political reform, but in changing hearts through the Word of God. Our Christian mandate is to spread the gospel of Christ. As far as my personal views are concerned, I’m content to say that I’m only a Christian! Be encouraged!
