From the heart of Dr. Robert L. Taylor, Th.D., Bible Teacher & Expositor. There’s power in being consistent! The power of consistency over time is both profound and underrated. In other words, consistent effort, even if seemingly small, yields significant and lasting results, yet this crucial principle is often overlooked or undervalued. It requires discipline and patience which can be challenging, leading some to underestimate its importance. This principle applies across various aspects of life, from personal development to spiritual growth and professional endeavors. In this teaching, we’ll examine the aspect of spiritual growth. In a spiritual context, consistency in prayer, Bible reading, and fellowship with God fosters a deeper connection and understanding of faith. It strengthens one's spiritual walk and allows for greater spiritual maturity. The biblical figure of Daniel, who remained steadfast in his faith despite facing a decree that prohibited prayer, demonstrates the power of consistency in the face of adversity. He continued his prayer routine, even when it meant going against the king’s signed decree and risking his life. In the context of the Bible, Daniel remaining consistent in prayer means he maintained a regular and habitual practice of praying to God, even when faced with adversity or opposition. This consistency wasn't just a one-time act during a crisis, but rather a deeply ingrained part of his daily life. He prayed three times a day, regardless of the circumstances, demonstrating a strong, unwavering faith and a commitment to his relationship with God. Scripture says, “Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously” (Daniel 6:10). Be encouraged!
