The Opposition of MAGA & Biblical Christianity (Conclusion)

The attempt to form a single entity of MAGA with Christianity is corruption of biblical faith. It is a counterfeit religion, an absurd misrepresentation of the Gospel, a golden calf fashioned out of nationalism and grievance. The church cannot serve two masters. It cannot enthrone Christ and Caesar at the same altar. The verdict of history is clear. Whenever the church has allied itself with political movements that glorify power, wealth, and exclusion, it has betrayed its Lord. Whether under Nazi Germany, or in segregated America, the results have been devastating. MAGA with Christianity is simply the latest version of that old deception. So when asked if it is compatible with the teachings of Jesus the Christ, the answer must be: No!! It cannot be reconciled because it is not Christianity at all. Maga is idolatry, dressed up in the language of faith, and it leads not to the cross of Jesus but away from it. In essence, the argument is that the political goals and rhetoric of the MAGA movement are rooted in a different set of values than those found in the New Testament. Remember Jesus’ warning to Pergamum: The church that compromised with the world (Revelation 2:12-17). The teaching of Balaam was prominent in this church leading to false alliances, idolatry and immorality. And eventually this compromise led to a fulfillment of the meaning of their name – “thoroughly married.” This church was "thoroughly married" to the world. The intent of MAGA is no different! So this letter is a reminder not to compromise. It’s a reminder that the church and political alliances are so opposed in character as to be incapable of existing together. It’s also a reminder in trying times to hold fast the name of Jesus, knowing that He is holding fast onto you. Be encouraged!
