The New Birth Series: Part Five (John 3:1-8)

Like Nicodemus, everyone born into this world is spiritually dead and not connected to God. The day that Adam disobeyed God, he died spiritually, no longer connected to God (Romans 5:12). A person who’s spiritually dead cannot beget a child who possesses spiritual life! Jesus is the giver of that life. Jesus said to a man who wanted to put off following Him by burying his father; “Allow the dead to bury their own dead” (Luke 9:59-60). That means there are physically dead people who need burying, and there are spiritually dead people who can bury them.
