The New Birth Series: Conclusion (John 3:1-8)

What happens in the new birth is not affirming the supernatural in Jesus but experiencing the supernatural in yourself (John 3:2). Nicodemus affirms the supernatural in Jesus. But Jesus responds, “Unless one is born again he cannot see [experience] the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). In other words, acknowledging the supernatural in Jesus is not the same as experiencing it in yourself. The fallen nature is willing to say that the miracle worker is from God. Demonic spirits affirm this about Jesus (Mark 1:24), but they’ll never experience the kingdom of God.
