The Eternal Security of Believers in Christ (Part Three)

- 1 min read

The eternal security of the believer is the biblical teaching that once a person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9), God guarantees their salvation forever. Paul teaches, “nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39). This verse continues to list everything, every realm, and every category which anyone might imagine could cause us to lose our salvation. Nothing can! He lists height and depth, meaning anything that might come down from above or up from below. Finally, Paul throws in an all-inclusive mention of anything else in all creation. Nothing will ever be able to separate those of us who are in Christ from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Those who are saved, through faith in Christ, are saved eternally and forever (John 10:28–29). Period. Be encouraged!
