The Eternal Security of Believers in Christ (Part One)

The eternal security of the believer is the biblical teaching that once a person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9), God guarantees their salvation forever. It means believers are kept by God's power—not their own works—and cannot lose their salvation, as it is sealed by the Holy Spirit. I had a brother in the Lord say to me, “Robert if I sin and don’t confess it to Jesus before dying, I’d lose my salvation!” His statement was truly stated, but it’s not a statement of truth. That type of thinking was hindering my friend from serving God out of love! Instead, he was serving God out of fear of losing salvation. He had no assurance that his eternal destination is sure in Jesus. Be encouraged!
