The Eternal Security of Believers in Christ (Conclusion)

Biblically, the doctrine of eternal security means that once a person is born again, God ensures they will remain saved and eventually enter heaven. It is a promise based on God's power and Christ’s finished work, not on human performance. However, this does not mean a believer can live however they please because genuine salvation results in a transformed life, not a rebellious one! Being eternally secure is a guarantee of God, not a loophole for sin! Being born again means a change of nature. A true believer is a "new creature" with a new heart and desires. They no longer desire to live in sin, but rather to live for Jesus (see 2 Corinthians 5:17). Lastly, eternal security provides a new motivation. Eternal security is not a license to sin, but rather a "license to serve" God without fear, out of gratitude for salvation rather than fear of losing it. This teaching is meant to provide assurance that salvation is secured by God, prompting love and obedience rather than carelessness. Be encouraged!
