Our passage is Romans 11:33-36. Paul teaches, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! (Romans 11:33). First, the depth of God’s wisdom. Here we’re told that the riches of God’s wisdom and knowledge are far beyond anything we can comprehend. It’s sort of like when you’re standing on the shore looking out over the ocean. No matter how much you squint and strain your eyes, you just can’t see the end of it. The water just keeps going and going as far as your eyes can see—and then keeps on going on even farther than that! That’s what God’s wisdom and knowledge are like. God's intellect, insights, and ways are so profoundly deep, vast, and complex that they are completely unfathomable and incomprehensible to human beings due to our finite minds. This idea, prominent in the Bible, suggests that while humans can understand some aspects of God's character, we can never fully know or grasp the totality of His wisdom, greatness, or the intricacies of His plans and judgments. God’s wisdom means that God’s uses His knowledge to bring about the absolute best for all who are in Christ! It’s no wonder Paul breaks out in this doxology concerning The wisdom and knowledge of God! It is an outburst of praise that extols the depth of God's wisdom, knowledge, and sovereignty, concluding with the affirmation that “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36). Be encouraged!
