SPIRITUAL POWER!

What images and expectations come to mind concerning spiritual power? Spiritual power isn’t usually the miraculous or spectacular, but rather the consistent showing of the fruit of the Spirit in the believer’s life! Jesus alluded to this when He said, “He will glorify Me, for He will take from Mine and will disclose it to you” (John 16:14). Jesus explains that the Holy Spirit will bring Him glory by taking what is His (the fruit of the Spirit) and revealing it to the disciples. Longing for spiritual power means having a deep, desperate desire for the Holy Spirit to transform your character to be more like Jesus Christ. It is a craving for inner spiritual change—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—rather than relying on self-effort! A spiritual Christian (1 Corinthians 3:1-3) is one who displays Jesus living through his life, and this is done by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is how we glorify God! Be encouraged!
