Speaking Life?

Heard someone say, “I have to speak life over my situation” because my current circumstances aren’t well. Based on Scripture ALONE, is this a biblical practice? Is this a faith based practice for believers? If so, where can it be found in the Bible? The belief that human words carry inherent, creative power to shape physical reality is unbiblical. According to Scripture, only God possesses the power to create ex nihilo (out of nothing) just by speaking (Romans 4:17). What did Abraham believe? He believed this referred exclusively to God's sovereign power and promises, not human ability. The Bible teaches that believers are to submit their requests to God in prayer rather than supposedly commanding reality to change through their own spoken authority. The true power of words in verses like Proverbs 18:21 highlight the moral weight of speech—such as the power to encourage, gossip, or bless others—rather than a formula to alter circumstances.
