Sound Doctrine Is Too Important To Ignore! (Part One)

Paul charges Titus, “You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine” (Titus 2:1). This command makes it clear that sound doctrine is important. But why is it important? Does it really make a difference what we believe? Doctrine means teaching. Sound means the doctrine is, “to be healthy” or “wholesome,” and refers to nourishment for the soul (mind, will, emotions), spiritual health, and lead to a changed life. In the New Testament—particularly in Paul’s letters to Timothy and Titus—sound doctrine is treated with great importance.
