Sound Doctrine Is Too Important To Ignore! (Conclusion)

Sound doctrine is needed for spiritual stability. It allows believers to mature spiritually by protecting them from spiritual deception and shifting cultural trends. Paul writes, “As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming” (Ephesians 4:14). The verse emphasizes spiritual maturity, warning believers to stand firm and avoid being easily swayed by unsound teachings or manipulation. The goal of spiritual maturity is to avoid being "carried about by every wind of doctrine." Unsound teaching changes regularly. Those who are immature can easily be fooled into thinking false teaching is accurate.
