Discipline’s Message (Conclusion)

God’s amazing grace and mercy plays a role in discipline. In other words, while Scripture calls for effort, it emphasizes that this is not done in one's own strength. It is described as "grace-powered consistency." When a believer feels too weak to show up, they can rely on the indwelling Holy Spirit to provide the strength to continue, knowing that God's grace covers failures and helps them start again! Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, the "new every morning" promise means you do not have to rely on yesterday's strength; fresh grace is provided for each day's specific situations. It reminds us of God’s constant character of faithfulness, providing a reliable foundation to continue, or "show up," even when you feel weak or defeated. The passage encourages shifting focus from one's own feelings of exhaustion to God's never-ending faithfulness. Be encouraged to keep showing up!
