Confidence at the Judgment Seat of Christ

John teaches, “By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). The Judgment Seat of Christ is an evaluation of a believer’s motives and stewardship to determine eternal rewards (see 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10; 1 Corinthians 3:13-14). According to John, having and keeping God’s Word means the love of God has reached its intended goal (perfected) in us (see 1 John 2:5), and gives the needed confidence when facing Jesus. Jesus walked this earth to show what God is like when He lives in man, and what man is like when God lives in Him.
