Born Once, Die Twice: Born Twice, Die Once (Part One)

In the Bible, death is defined as separation rather than the end of conscious existence. Scripture outlines three distinct ways this separation is expressed: Physical death happens when the spirit and soul departs (separates) from the body (Genesis 35:16-18). Spiritual death describes humanity as being physically alive but relationally dead (separated) from God. The second death speaks of the final, conscious, and permanent separation from the presence and grace of God (Revelation 20:14-15, 21:8).
