Biblical Discernment Matters! (Part Two)

Let’s look at the core meaning of biblical discernment. It speaks of the ability to separate or distinguish. The word means to separate, decide, or tell the difference between things, like right from wrong, or truth from falsehood. It points to the guidance of God. In other words, it's recognizing and responding to God's presence and will in daily life, separating or distinguishing His voice amidst many others. God’s voice is understood and embraced by the reading of His word, the Bible. Biblical discernment speaks of gaining spiritual insight. It's a spiritual understanding, enabled by the Holy Spirit, to know God's active work and His truth, rather than just human understanding. It goes beyond natural insight to understand spiritual realities.
