Standing In Awe Of God’s Word

Ultimately, as we examine or study the Word of God, we’re approaching the mind of God! Let that thought sink in for a moment! When speaking of God, Isaiah said these words; (8) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. (9)“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isa. 55:8-9). For that reason, each time we open the Scriptures, we should stand prepared for an encounter with the God whose thoughts and ways are much higher than ours! If that doesn’t inspire awe within us, there’s something wrong! We make this mistake because we don’t understand and embrace what it is that we’re doing when we come to the Bible! Many times, we search the Word of God not in awe of what it reveals, but to find agreement with our own views! Instead, we should come recognizing that we know very little! We don’t possess the answers, and that’s the reason for our approaching the Word of God in the first place! Approaching the mind of God in this fashion means we’re putting aside our viewpoints and looking for what our awesome God will teach us! Brothers and sisters, it just doesn’t get any better than that. Be encouraged!
