Are You a Person of Integrity? (2 Cor. 8:21)

2 Corinthians 8:21 says, "For we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men." God is a God of integrity. As a God of integrity, He desires a life of integrity in Christ followers! Integrity is a God-like life of consistency and sincerity, without deception or pretense. The overriding quality of integrity is wholeness. In fact, the word integrity comes from the same root word as integer, meaning whole. In other words, no discrepancy exists between your public life and your private life. People of integrity have nothing to hide and nothing to fear. Integrity is not reputation (other's opinions of you). Integrity is the sum total of our being and our actions. It's not something we have, but something we are! As Christ followers, integrity is needed because people of the world are watching us. Integrity involves a commitment to self scrutiny to determine whether our professed beliefs match our daily lives! The question is, "will our behavior match what we say we believe?" Will our character correspond with our words? The question is, "what are people seeing?" The old adage is true: Our walk must match our talk! As Christ followers, we are to live in such a way that our family, our brothers and sisters in Christ, and friends will know WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, that who we say we are, we are! As Christ followers, a life of integrity is not optional, it's required! Integrity is developed as we spend time with Jesus through the Bible. To be people of integrity, we need a consistent exposure to God's Word through sound biblical teaching. Integrity enables us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we've been called! Open yourselves to God and allow Him to make any corrections and any adjustments that are needed for the life of integrity! Your move. Be encouraged!
