The Imminent Coming Of Jesus Christ...

The coming of Jesus for His Bride (Church) is an imminent event. This is the sound teaching of the Word of God! The English word "imminent" comes from the Latin verb "immineo," which means to "overhang." In view of this, the English word "imminent" means "hanging over one's head, ready to befall or overtake one; close at hand in its incidence." In other words, an imminent event is one that's always hanging overhead, is constantly ready to befall or overtake a person! Other things MAY happen before the imminent event, but nothing else MUST take place before it happens. In Paul's letter to Titus, Paul tells us that the grace of God instructs or trains us in "looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus," (Titus 2:13). Please take note that Jesus' return is called "the blessed hope." This is because, Jesus' return or appearance for the church will usher in a time of tremendous blessing as promised over and over again in Scripture. This word "blessed" refers overwhelmingly to the distinct joy which accrues to the person from his/her share in the salvation of God! It's blessed because of all that our Lord's return will mean to us as Christ followers. His coming for us means "translation," (the catching away of the church from the earth to meet the Lord in the air), "transformation," (transformed or glorified resurrected bodies), "reunion," (meeting loved ones and friends who have fallen asleep (died) in the Lord), "examination and remuneration," (evaluation for and the giving of rewards for faithful service), "and reigning with Jesus," (in the glorious future that follows)! If knowing this doesn't bring joy and excitement to your heart, then it's time for you to begin looking at life through the Lord's point of view. You will not be disappointed for this is how you tap into "every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ," (Ephesians 1:3). The imminent coming of Jesus for His church should have an incredible practical effect on the lives of every Christ follower! It is intended by God to make a difference in every Christ follower's values, priorities, and goals! Your move. Be encouraged! It could happen at any time!
