Dealing With The Question Of: "If God Is Good, Then Why Does He Allow People To Suffer?"

The Bible's explanation and clarification for why there's pain and suffering is the BEST one that I have come across! It tells us that God created the world as good, but sickness, disease, catastrophies, wars, and death entered into what God created as good through sin! The effects of Adam's original sin were far-reaching in that it spread to the entire human race. Apostle Paul said it like this: "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned" (Romans 5:12). Every parent knows that you do not have to teach children how to be selfish and defiant. It's inbred! The only solution for human sin and suffering is God's provision of Jesus Christ! In other words, God entered into this evil, suffering world in the person of Jesus Christ, who willingly took our sin on Himself. If we believe that as our only assurance of salvation, God promises eternal life with Him where there is no more sin! Also, just because you can't see or imagine a good reason why God might allow something awful to happen does not mean that there can not be one! You don't have the comprehensive big picture that He has. If God is powerful enough to stop evil and suffering, which the Scriptures say He'll do someday, then He is also wise and powerful enough to have good reasons to permit it to continue for now! Your problem with evil and suffering is that you are assuming that you know more than God does! You are not in submission to Him as the Sovereign of the universe that He brought forth. Even though God has allowed sin to continue, He also has given a Savior from the penalty, power, and one day, the very presence of sin! Your move. Be encouraged!
