The Awesome Wonder Of The Holy Spirit!

The Holy Spirit works in the Christ follower to glorify the Son. Not only does the Holy Spirit assist the Son (Jesus Christ) in carrying out the work of the Father, but more specifically, the Holy Spirit seeks to bring glory to the Son! Let's examine the words of John 16:12-14 which says, "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you." As Christ followers, we must understand that the role of the Holy Spirit is to mediate the presence of Christ. While the church is under the lordship of Jesus, performing His will and obeying His Word, the rulership of Jesus over His church is carried out as the Holy Spirit works in Jesus' followers to mediate to them the Lord's presence and to move them to honor the Lord! It just does not get any better than this. Also notice that Jesus repeatedly refers to the Spirit as "the Spirit of truth" (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13). God is the God of truth (Psalm 31:5; Isa 65:16). This means that He is the ultimate reality, because He created all that is. It means that He speaks the truth and can't lie (Titus 1:2). Since Jesus is the truth (John 14:6) and came into the world to testify of the truth (John 18:37), the Spirit of truth continues His work by testifying of Him (John 15:26). This also means, contrary to popular belief (the prevailing view of society), that there is such a thing as ABSOLUTE, KNOWABLE truth in the spiritual realm (John 8:32) and that this truth is found ONLY in Jesus (Eph 4:21), who is revealed in the Spirit-breathed written Word of God, which is truth (John 17:17). When folks turn away from God, they turn away from the Only source of truth to the lie (Rom 1:25)! Your move. Be encouraged!
