Jesus Christ Is So AMAZING!

I'm speaking in reference to the judgment of Christ for the sin of those who believe in Him! Scripture teaches two aspects of this judgment. Let's examine them. First we'll look at Jesus' judgment for sin, dying in the place of the sinner, bearing his sin and judgment on the cross as the sinner's substitute! This is so amazing! The prophet Isaiah puts it this way, "Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep has gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him" (Isaiah 53:4-6). Sin requires a penalty, the penalty of death as God's holy judgment on sin. Christ Jesus, the perfect and sinless Son of God, the ONLY one who could qualify as our substitute, died to satisfy the demands of the absolute holiness of God. Sin calls for judgment and the cross of Jesus became that place of judgment! It was there Jesus paid the penalty for those who believe in Him! I'm reminded of what Matthew said about those who were "hurling abuse at Him" and saying "If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross" (Matt. 27:39-40). I'm so glad that Jesus did not come down from the cross!! How about you? The second aspect is His judgment unto sin's reign; the judgment of the Christ follower's sin nature! Not only did Jesus die for our sins as the Lamb of God (John 1:29), but Jesus died to BREAK THE REIGN of sin in the lives of those who follow Him! At the cross of Jesus, the Christ follower's sin nature was judged and crucified with Jesus so that its power to master us has been broken! It's no longer a matter of getting victory over the sin nature, but it is about learning to walk in the Holy Spirit! Paul said it this way, "For sin shall not be master over you.." (Romans 6:14). Thank God for this amazing Jesus! You could search and search for all eternity and still find, there is NONE like Jesus Christ! Praise God forevermore! Be encouraged!
